Martin J. Whitman is a sharp old guy who runs Third Avenue Management. His quarterly reports are always interesting and often provocative. Like Buffett, he writes useful letters to shareholders, but he doesn't obscure his opinions with folksy language or corny sayings the way Buffett does.

I recommend reading everything Whitman has written, and this is a good place to start.
