We will be away until the New Year, hiking in southwest Texas. I plan to make a photo album of our trip for the site, so you can look
forward to that while we're away.
Here's a little table that you might want to refer to as you rebalance your portfolio at year-end. Shifting gains from your
best performing funds (Treasury Bonds this year) into your worst performing funds (S&P 500 Growth this year) is a good idea since you
want to bring things into balance.
As I noted in a previous entry,
if I had sold some of my technology holdings at the end of 1999 and shifted those gains into bonds or Russell 2000 Value (then the worst performing asset classes),
I would have saved myself a lot of grief. Now I know better and am disciplined about asset allocation.
