Have any of you ever ridden one of these?

Glad to see you gleaning useful input from the new LOW list for a change (grin). Hey, that certainly is “not my father’s Hayabusa”. Like straddling the space shuttle.

stan: Is Suzuki hitting a new low?

I can’t imagine anyone wanting to. When you see them on the road the drivers look agonizingly uncomfortable. How could anyone stay in that forced position for more than 10 minutes. I’d take a real motorcycle over a crotch rocket any day.

dayo: They probably look agonized because they’re only going 65 mph when 165 mph would feel about right.

No CM, I said they looked “uncomfortable”, agonizingly was the descriptive adverb. I was referring to their body position, stretched out forward at about 81 degrees to the vertical.
By the way, you’re way too old for one of those. ;-)

I ride a TL1000R, it is quite comfortable with one wheel in the air.

dayo: Just in time for my mid-life crisis though!

No, but I am taking delivery of a Triumph Bonneville on Monday.

Dan: How much hair do you have left?
May 17th, 2007 at 10:42 pm
All of it, I’m 24.
Hope this isn’t my mid-life crisis.

Dan: Lucky devil… well it could lead to your end of life crisis if you don’t wear a helmet. ;-)

Steeler’s QB Ben R rode one, w/o helmet, smack into the side of a car. His face recovered but his accuracy did not. Let’s hope this year is different. Go Steel!

I wouldn’t bend over even if I was paid to. let alone paying to bend over! ;)
How fast you reckon this thing can go during rush hour in one of the major Chinese cities?

Thought you might be interested, CM :)

yin: Thanks for the link. I like it when the front wheel finally touches down at 140 mph — clearly a 200 mph speedometer doesn’t cut it. Here’s a video of a turbocharged Hayabusa.

one moseying groundhog would take care of the guy in the vid. i really don’t get the speed thing but then again i’m female.

scoot: It’s the possibility of one moseying groundhog that makes it so appealing, and get the hell out of the passing lane already, honey. ;-)

I’ve almost killed myself with half the cc’s. You need an iron grip just to keep the bike from taking off without you. And, forget moseying critters. A stiff crosswind will work just as well.
