[A very cool Heatmap-type thing which has apparently been around forever, but I just discovered it this past weekend. My only gripe is that the component stocks are "chosen by SmartMoney.com editors for their importance or interest." Why not have a bunch of these maps covering every major index and sub-index? I think the "Full Headlines" function is fantastic.]

[There was an article in the Asian WSJ this past weekend on P2P TV ... they mentioned coolstreaming.org (which apparently rebroadcast ESPN and HBO and has recently shut down), and PPLive, which is still around and useful if you want to watch Chinese TV on your computer.]

By hook or by crook, the Chinese are going to get by... an example I encountered this past weekend: a guy in the market was alternately taking eggs out of two different baskets and combining them in single cartons. I asked him why. He said, pointing at one basket, these eggs are fresh and, pointing at the other basket, these eggs are three days old. A trick probably as old as China itself.
