Final Day of Free Trading Ideas

Today is the last day of free for the daily trading ideas. Yesterday the Box was on target with its 12 short ideas and today it found seven more shorts. Hope you enjoyed the free trial while it lasted (several months), but it’s over now.

Trading Ideas for Friday, February 29

Two dozen people have taken a leap of faith and subscribed so far. That’s 2% of the original 1200 on the list — I consider that a darned impressive conversion rate given my gross ineptitude at marketing, and I thank my subscribers for taking the risk. :)

I am spamming your comment box with my own system. It is far cheaper and far more profitable. ‘There can be only one’.

You can’t compete Mr Chairman…mu ha ha ha

Hi Maoxian. Please quide me, how can I subscribe trade ideas?

  4. wise said:

I just can not find the place where to subscribe.

wise: You click the button there that says “PayPal Payments” which will lead you to a page where there are further instructions, I believe. If worse comes to worse you can stick a twenty in an envelope and send it to me. :)

    Chairman,

Not to quibble…but isn’t it 1% of the original?

    :)

Linda: We’ve hit the two dozen mark now, but it’s late and I’ve been drinking so my math could be wrong. :-)

There’s the problem. As far as I know, Paypal would not accept smaller European regions i.e. Estonia. Other solutions?

  9. wise said:

Whow, sorry. I just noticed Estonia from the list. Time has passed…

    Thnx.

wise: Stick 200 kroon in an envelope and send it to me… just kidding, hmmm maybe an Amazon gift certificate or something?

Sorry Chairman….not enough coffee on board here!

Linda: Putting a shot of whiskey in your cup should help straighten things out. :)

BTW. I do not know where you reside, but considering the stable decline of USD, the Estonian krone may gain till it reaches you (It is fixed with EURO).

So it is worth to consider to accept it :)

But seriously, I already noticed that PayPal has Estonia on the list.

At some point, I would be interested in reading your thoughts on how to trade the box ideas that gap open above/below the entry amount. I assume that for tracking you still use the entry amount but if I can’t get that price because of the gap open, wouldn’t that effect the trade’s risk and reward percentage? And if the gap is significant enough, would it invalidate the trade?
    Thanks.

I to am interested in what you have to say to Bob’s question about gap on opening

  16. C. Maoxian said:

@Bob & michael: This is an important question so I will add a section in the User Guide about it. Let me just say now that if price gaps beyond our stop limit entry and doesn’t come back to it, then there’s no fill. Now some people use a stop limit order that’s one cent away from the entry price and other use five or six cents, but the bottom line is don’t chase anything.

In the trading record, I’m using a penny away from the entry price, so if price doesn’t go there I count it as a missed trade. Take VRSN from the other day — the entry level was 36.71 but the stock only traded up to 36.69. Someone with a 36.70 stop limit would have missed the trade, someone else with a 36.65 stop limit probably would have been filled. But for the record I said no entry in VRSN.

Does that help clarify things? (And I *will* add something to the User Guide about this issue.)

Geeze, the comments are interesting. I guess my first thought is that most people don’t have their shit together - even if they think they do. I’m sure you’ll get some e-mails asking “how come your daily picks stopped coming to me - was it gmail that put you out of business.” My second thought - give 10 people the same set-up - and the results will be different each from the other. Practice, loss, all that bull shit leads to creativity in “pulling the trigger” in and out.

OK, finally, when I get a list of 10, 8, 6, etc. items in your “Daily Racing Form” i If you have one or two that seem superior to the others I sure would like to know. Doesn’t mean they have to be the ones that have to produce that day - just your opinion

I’m sure when you are finished you’ll have more than 50 subscribers.

    Good luck - peachin

paul: The times when the box comes up with a large number of picks is unusual I think, and most of the time there are only a small handful to consider. People can use their own judgment about which ideas seem superior — that’s why they’re called ideas instead of recommendations.
