The New York Times Company Reports February Revenues and Provides First-Quarter Guidance

TimesSelect, the fee-based product on NYTimes.com that includes The Times’s distinctive columnists and extensive access to its archives as well as other features, currently has more than 450,000 subscribers, with about 279,000 receiving TimesSelect as a benefit of their home-delivery subscriptions and about 171,000 receiving it from online-only subscriptions.

I used to read Krugman, Rich, Dowd, etc. regularly, but I don’t anymore — they got de-selected. Lock out millions of daily readers in exchange for fewer than 175,000 paying customers (bringing in less than $9MM in annual revenue) — brilliant! No wonder I see NYT on the new lows list every day.
