LINTA Short Finally Covered

Finally the short in LINTA, which was suggested back in the middle of December, would have covered yesterday above $14.22. Using my crude ABC stop method, the gain would be nearly 13 times the initial risk, which makes it a “home run” among ideas generated by the Box. (Sorry for the erroneous 14x annotation on the chart; I was eyeballing it.)

I will soon send to list members the spreadsheet for trades initiated in December. I am calling it “December Report, version 1.0,” and urge everyone to scrutinize it closely for errors. If I got a date wrong or a price wrong, please let me know. If you find a “material” error, and you’re the first to point it out, you’ll win a free month’s worth of trading ideas.

The Box, as far as I can figure it out, is coming up with price pattern-based ideas where the initial risk is at least half the expected reward. Each idea gives you an entry point, a stop-loss point, a target range, and stop management updates. The value lies in these specifics. You should decide whether or not to act on any idea after doing your own due diligence, of course.

I look forward to welcoming many of you free trialers as full-time subscribers in February!

Could you please summarize the overall performance of the blackbox together with your ABC risk management system ?

Tamas: You can read all about the ABC stop method from the link in the post (there are six posts introducing ABC I think), or just search the blog using the term “ABC.” I will post a summary of the trading results for December ideas on the blog. If you’re on the list you will receive the detailed spreadsheet on Friday.

Just out of curiosity, what was the target range for LINTA?

mrtrend: The details of the LINTA trade sent out for Friday, December 14 were:

    Short LINTA below 20.80
    Protective Stop above 21.35
Initial Risk Covered at ~ 20.25
    Target #1: 19.43 to 19.21
    Target #2: 18.79 to 19.01
    Target #3: 17.74 to 17.95
    Target #4: 15.59 to 15.77

The targets are simple Fibonacci projections and I’ve since stopped giving out all three or four and instead just list Target #1 for simplicity’s sake.
