I’m considering buying a pair of these pants. Any thoughts?

I would certainly get them. You could make them into some beautiful curtains.

Just one…. WHY?
April 30th, 2007 at 3:07 am
Just make sure you have the correct length. Otherwise, if you have to alter the length, which I see that it is necessary to cut by the ’square.’ It would not look good if you have half a square at the bottom of the pants!
April 30th, 2007 at 3:29 am
how much ?
April 30th, 2007 at 5:12 am
if you buy them, i will unsubscribe
April 30th, 2007 at 6:07 am
If you can get them in Bell Bottoms, go for it.
April 30th, 2007 at 6:31 am

April 30th, 2007 at 6:38 am
that’s a pretty pricey pair of pants
April 30th, 2007 at 7:47 am
Closet DT: You make an excellent point that I will keep in mind.
vak: They’re $90 and worth every penny!

“The Economist Warns on China Stock Frenzy, Hence Top Nowhere in Sight”
For the record, the Economist did pretty good with their warnings on the U.S. housing market in the summer of 2005.

brian: Right, they’ve called ten of the last five tops perfectly.
April 30th, 2007 at 8:13 am
Where were you planning to wear these and with whom: She Who Cannot be Disobeyed would have an interesting response…and your gf-s would have some other interesting responses…..maybe baby T would like them….maythe in ambiance is different in Beijing…maybe. For a man who values value, I think this is a miss.
April 30th, 2007 at 8:27 am
you can wear them to the tea partay
April 30th, 2007 at 8:55 am
C. Maoxian: I owned a pair the summer I graduated from college, 1972, and spent July on Cape Cod… Sailed in the Edgertown regatta, drank Gin and Tonics and basically hung around with Buffy and Missy, are they back in style? (the pants, not Buffy and Missy) I think I stored them somewhere… let me look… hold on….

I need to see what shirt you are going to match up before I can give my opinion…of course if you go shirtless than I say what the hell why not who would notice anyway…

me: Loved the video, “yo, yo, where my WASPs at?” ;-)
April 30th, 2007 at 11:24 am
Wow, neat. I’m interested in getting a pair now.
It looks like a 1960’s thing?!
Anything that is uncool is cool, until it’s cool.
April 30th, 2007 at 11:48 am
it is beautiful.
April 30th, 2007 at 11:54 am
Andrew: Rest assured that these bad boys will never be considered cool.
April 30th, 2007 at 1:07 pm
And you must wear them with a long-sleeved shirt— a solid color with white cuffs and collar.
April 30th, 2007 at 2:51 pm
Mike: I was thinking they’d go well with stripes. Why long sleeves?
April 30th, 2007 at 3:01 pm
I’m seeing a fancy hat too, maybe with a feather, also a walking cane ;)
April 30th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
preppie city…
May 1st, 2007 at 12:00 am
You would be the second guy. Got mine last week.
May 1st, 2007 at 1:17 am
Have you ever wondered why they’re called by the plural? Have you ever tried to buy 1 “pant”?
May 1st, 2007 at 2:37 am
Those pants would look great with a straight jacket.
May 1st, 2007 at 2:57 am
That’s all you should wear. I have several pairs, and wear them everyday as they really pull the chicks. You won’t believe this, but my women even fight over who gets to wash and iron them.

Are those Brooks Brothers pants?
May 1st, 2007 at 8:16 am
iio: Good guess, but they’re from Orvis. I once had a shirt from Brooks Brothers called the “fun shirt” (a multi-colored stripe) which almost got me beaten up on several occasions. ;-)
May 1st, 2007 at 10:00 am
I have one of the “fun shirts” from Brooks. They stopped carrying them for awhile (Brooks has had several owners over the years and perhaps that’s why). But several years ago I noticed they started stocking them again and bought one immediately. If you like full cut shirts, you can get a lot of wear out of it — good with khakis, navy blazer, even shorts.
May 1st, 2007 at 11:28 am
I’m sure if any quilters saw you they would seek you out!
May 1st, 2007 at 2:52 pm
John: They’ve stopped stocking the fun shirt; I haven’t seen one in years and years anyway, so if you find one buy it for me.
May 2nd, 2007 at 12:11 am
I’d at least try these one with a solid white oxford, untucked of course. However, I prefer boot-leg cut.
May 2nd, 2007 at 1:29 am
If those are the next fashionable items, I would be happy to be considered not “trendy” in the clothing department.
May 2nd, 2007 at 11:53 am
Trying to picture you in these pants… You know what, I think they suit you well.

Very interesting design. Highly recomended
June 20th, 2007 at 11:45 am

June 20th, 2007 at 12:33 pm
appletoast: Orvis (but it looks like they sold out) … consider these hunting pants instead.
June 26th, 2007 at 5:16 am
hahah. wife now says divorce.
lol
June 26th, 2007 at 7:07 am
appletoast: Stick to your guns and be confident that there’s a woman out there who can learn to love them (though she may be very difficult to find). ;-)
July 13th, 2007 at 9:53 am
I love them I am trying to find some for my boyfriend right now I think they are going to look great!
July 13th, 2007 at 10:03 am
lisa: You’re a woman with rare good taste. ;-) (Orvis no longer stocks them though, I’m afraid.)
May 30th, 2008 at 9:09 pm
Loudmouth Golf Pants
just make sure you take pictures of yourself in them so your son can make fun of you in 15 years. I’m actually off to Amagansett right now for the weekend. later buffy.
May 30th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
peter: Those pants you linked to are in terrible taste and I’d never be seen wearing any of them. :)
