I would be interested to see this list from the year I graduated from college, 1972, I bet more than a few of the top ten preferences are gone or ghosts of their former self ie, Polaroid a terrific technology once…

HRGREEN: Great point, I wonder if such lists exist for the 50s, 60s, 70s, etc. — they’d be fascinating. Xerox was also a sexy company in 1972, no?
Google wasn’t around when I graduated from college in 1992. ;-) And I’m happy to see that half the undergraduates’ choices are “idealistic” ones (assuming that the State Dep’t, CIA, and FBI are forces of good, lol).

Back in 72 the CIA recruiting on campus was a big deal, lots of protests and pickets…. and XEROX was sooooo cool man… Im going to see if I can find this list somewhere… can you imagine the 60’s must have had the big go go conglomerates… Textron…
