bugmenot.com has an extension for firefox. Bugmenot provides usernames and passwords for some websites that require registration to read their contents.

I use lasttab, I regularly have 10+ tabs open at once and the tab memory is great. You just ctlr+tab to switch tabs and it remembers which was your most recently viewed.

Foxmarks. I have FF on 3 machines and FM syncs my FF bookmarks like magic. Set it up and forget about it.

esto: Thanks (esp. for linking).
Hector: Yes, I know, but I’m not running into so many stupid “registration req’d” sites these days … thanks though.
joshm: I also keep a ton of tabs open, that’s why I like the colors and the faviconize; I’ll chekc out lasstab, thanks (esp. for linking).
cheehow: I used Opera once long ago when it had a huge banner ad at the top which I refused to pay to get rid of (I have donated money to the Firefox fund).
bg: Ah, a good one… thanks, I’ll get that one tout suite.

C.M:
If you use del.icio.us, try:
delicious
you like web developer, try:
FireBug

JWang: I tried the delicious extension and found it slow and clunky and prefer the post to delicious bookmarklets instead. Thanks for the other suggestions.

opera is now free. i guess they have big plans to become a more common browser.

cheehow: Too late, Firefox is my baby now. Does Opera have AdBlock?

contain scripting only to sites you trust: NoScript — it will be a bit redundant with your Adblock and Flashblock already installed, but I like to keep alert to any (ad-related or otherwise) scripting going on, and affirmatively permit it.
thanks for your list — I’ll have to look into Filterset.G

Steve: Thanks for the NoScript suggestion; this is another one I will add.

Thanks for extensions. I’ve installed the Adblock Plus and your site, and most others, looks completely different. It’s almost unrecognizable. Is that the way it’s supposed to work?

CM-
Check out Browster ..it allows quick viewing of links without having to click on a link..pretty neat.
February 7th, 2007 at 8:29 am
dayo: AdBlock will erase the one tiny Google ad below the search box on this site, that’s all. Send me before and after screenshots if you can so I can see how “unrecognizable” it becomes.
amir: Browster sounds like the dreaded Snap preview, but I’ll check it out, thanks.

You know what it normally looks like, the following is now with adblock plus enabled:

(I didn’t know any other way to show you other than to post to that site and give you the link - hope it works)

dayo: Good point! (Though some browsers render the site differently from others.) Looks like the CSS (style sheet) is turned off there in your screenshot. Just hit refresh and see if it comes in right the next time.

hmmm, I thought we were talking about Firefox ;-)
in any event, refresh didn’t work (had already tried that), but I removed the “Easy Filter” thingy and it works fine now

dayo: Another good point! (I just keeping digging myself into a deeper hole). ;-)

I’m a big fan of mouse gesture, check out All-in-One Gestures. Also, ScrapBook if you clip webpages like I do. Yet another one I use is FEBE - Firefox Extension Backup Extension.

greefea: I’ve never understood the mouse gestures thing (maybe I’m a klutz), but the extension backup extension sounds smart.

[…] I’m pretty sure it was Maoxian that introduced me to the Faviconizetab Firefox extension. I’ve combined that with the Permatab Firefox extension for a few select sites that I have open all the time. I’ve just added WallStreak to this group, which reminds me that I’ve been meaning to post about this. […]
