Notable New Highs — December 7, 2006
Kind of an awful see-saw day till, yes, 2 PM precisely, when the sell programs turned on (ding dong!) accelerating into the close.
There’s Capital Southwest Corporation (CSWC), a company I only recently learned about from reading ControlledGreed.com, who recommended reading the President’s letters (which are very good).

Thanks for the props. I first learned of Capital Southwest and Bill Thomas from reading an interview with Marty Whitman in the early-to-mid 1990s.

Nice pop in CSWC. Do they have Heelys in China? It’ll be interesting to see how that IPO does tomorrow

Michael: Yeah, all the little spoiled rich kids wear Heelys (probably knock-offs though).

John: I thought of you when William Thomas wrote (back in 2003), “Most of the CEOs of Corporate America’s large businesses have an uncontrolled level of greed that easily transcends their fiduciary obligations to shareholders.”
