I’m reading a bit more about Malaysia since I plan to put some money there this year. Zainah Anwar, American-educated and very attractive (sexist you say?), fights for women’s rights in the Islamic state.
I’ve always found the phrase “progressive Muslim society” something of an oxymoron, because as I understand it (bear in mind I know almost nothing about Islam), women are considered the lowest of the low in society, ranked beneath both slaves and infidels. Nevertheless, the head of the Central Bank in Malaysia is a woman… odd, I don’t get it.
