Noah Education (NED) just came public… I don’t know anything about them but I thought I’d mention it since it’s apparently another way besides New Oriental to play the China / education theme.

beanie: I’m going to have to ban you from commenting if you continue to post random/off-topic stuff. Just wanted to give you fair warning.

You don’t think it was Judgement Day for NED, who just got whacked?

beanie: It opened 60%+ above its offering price so that ain’t bad. Sure the folks who paid that opening price got whacked but these are early days.

ricky: I doubt if any retail “investors” looked at the financials before buying (do they ever?). I like your Taobao research method though. ;-)

what’s taobao? a search engine? I’ve looked at the prospectus and these guys make money mostly from selling these DLD to students pre-college age…
does anyone know anything about these DLD? are they really useful (i.e. worth the money for parents/students)? do buyers know the difference btw one or the other or is buying based on price?

Trading at 44x trailing on only $75M in revenue - Yikes.

68monkey: Taobao is a shopping site I think (like Amazon) but I’ve never used it so I don’t really know. I know nothing about DLD and am strictly a paper and pencil man myself.
