Yahoo’s Plans for Carrying More Financial Blogs?

Just noticed that under the News & Info section on Yahoo! Finance there’s a link titled “Financial Blogs.” (Maybe it has been there awhile and I haven’t been paying attention.) Looks like Seeking Alpha articles are the only ones listed there now, but they must intend to include more contributors than SA alone, no? Anyone know what Yahoo’s plans are for carrying more financial blogs?

SA alone?

    Hi Chairman,

I think Yahoo will only publish blogs linked through Seeking Alpha - it probably depends on the deal they signed???

David Jackson struck a major deal with Yahoo! back @ the end of last yr and it has catapulted the firm to stardom, and a pretty nice VC deal. I doubt Yahoo! would add other blogs: there is really no incentive for them to do so.

alpha is the only “blog” (and that’s even what you want to call it: the analysts & HF mngrs I chat with call it “a really friggin good place for ideas”) that screens for content and possesses a rigorous editorial stuff. Furthermore, they cater to serious investors and feature a VAST ammt of new topics and stocks DAILY.

If you can find another SeekingAlpha, let me know.

disclosure: I’m a contributor to SA.

Beta: They wouldn’t have created a link titled Financial Blogs if they only planned to include SA alone. Maybe they’re looking for other aggregators who act as editors of sorts (like SA does) instead of adding contributors blog by blog, who knows?

The idea looks great, but what will be the precise mechnism of this? I mean - what blogs will be there, who will put them - special human team, or machine engine…

Lenno: Dunno, it’s a good question. Obviously Yahoo has gone out to lunch on the whole thing lo these many months (years?).

Well, and whom we can ask about it? May be - to write a letter to Yahoo staff?
